I have been reading your work in lieu of grad school assignments and do not, in the least feel regret or guilt for the avoidance of school. In college, I became an english lit major after reading female writers and discovering that I was not alone- that there were people in the world who not only felt similar but could amazingly articulate what was going on in my head. I am comforted and inspired by your work and simply want to say "thanks."

As a teacher, I often used music to teach reading and writing poetry. Thanks for sharing your work- I have to express my appreciation of your voice and perspective. Your p.o.v is inspiring. These lines are some of my favs
"You’re golden with black inside
Outer shine designed to hide"
and
"All that baggage is bad for your knees
He is where my mind is
But my heart don’t wanna go back there

He wasn’t right for me, but no one ever was
And I’d rather lie to myself, than never be in love"
Thank you-from those I've read so far, I'm taken back to my freshman year of college when I discovered the importance of each of our own distinct voices.

I really like your rhyme scheme that you use. Very traditional and easy to understand. I am not completely sure what this poem symbolizes or means for you but to me it reads like this. It is about dying old and frail while still feeling young and reckless and the clouds are what make the passing to Heaven happy and not sad. I liked this a lot. Keep up the good work.

"You’ll sink your way into that black I envy smoothly." I see these words coming from my own lips. I love the way you write. I just wrote a poem about loving someone who acts like a martyr, which causes me a great deal of guilt. Problem is, the sacrifices he makes for me, are NOTHING I have asked for. Go figure. I will be checking in often. I like it all...
